Card Drive Progress!

Hi All!

Well we have good news and not so good news.

Good news first – We have 7 schools reporting on their card drive – with all 7 schools reporting better than 60% of their cards have been signed and returned. Those schools are –

Alcalde 65%
Dixon 75%
EVHS 65%
Hernandez 67%
Los Ninos 97% (and a probable 100% - I will paint it red when that last card comes in!)
Mountain View 86%
Sombrillo 100% !!!

This gives us to date – 34% of the district employees have signed our cards that we know of.

Schools who have not yet reported their progress –

CO (I did talk to Eileen – just don’t remember what she said)
CVMS
EMSE
Fairview
JHR
San Juan
Velarde

and please – if you are in one of these schools or buildings please let either me or Andrea know the following
You have cards and they are being circulated in your school
People are signing them!

If you don’t have cards and no one is circulating them for signatures, we need to know right away so we can get you some. Thank you!

Remember – Our goal was to finish by April 30 – which is Monday! We have a lot of work to do after the cards are done, and not a lot of time to do it. I have heard some very interesting rumors re next years calendar...including teacher start date of August 8th, longer days, more days, more in-service – but my biggest concern about the calendar is that to my knowledge no one I know has had any input into it at all. So all bargaining about and around the calendar is going to have to be retro-active bargaining rather than pro-active bargaining...trying to change what is, instead of planning for what could be.
