CUSTODIANS: If you want a say, you MUST be there!

RESPECT!   BETTER CONDITIONS!
Cornelio Martinez, custodian at Carlos Vigil Middle School is leading the E-NEA local's efforts to improve working conditions for his colleagues.  Cornelio and the local's leaders urge all custodians to participate in an effort to redefine the custodian job description.  If you want a say in your job descriptions, then you MUST BE at our meeting, Thursday July 26, 6 p.m. at the Laborer's Union Hall (Local 16), 206 Guachpangue Road, Espanola, NM,  Pizza will be served.

As part of the recent Collective Bargaining negotiations, Custodians won three important gains:
1) The District's agreement to sit down with our local union to work on improving the custodial job descriptions.  Our meeting is to develop our positions about how those descriptions should look.
2)  No more “we’ll give you comp time” which you then can’t use. Custodians and other Support Personnel are to be paid for over-time worked, possibly at time and a half.

3) Extra pay for Custodians who do their own duty and also that of an absent colleague when no sub is available to do the work of that absent colleague.

See you there!  Questions: Cornelio Martinez at 901-9131 or Michael Lapcevic 927-9412.
