Sign the petition yourself, get colleagues to sign (especially those without frequent email/internet access) no later than this Sunday, August 21. The School Board hearing is coming up this next Monday, so we need these returned ASAP.
We have heard by word of mouth that some Board members have said they will vote to Discharge John without regard to the merits! Perhaps they will listen to the power of numbers, especially from employees such as yourselves who can make the difference in whether or not School Board members get re-elected or whether other votes the Board puts before the public for votes win, or not. We hope Board members will act ethically, but know they pay attention to the power of numbers!
If you have a "hard copy" of the petition, please return it by Close of Business Friday, Aug 19 to Lauro Barrera, ETS Fairview Elementary (927-2100). If you can't get hard copy to Lauro before 4:30 Friday, and you have signatures from colleagues in hand, please call Lauro (927-2100) to arrange a way so your signatures will count.

For the sake of this case, and for all employee rights cases in Espanola, your NEA membership is critical. As noted above, folks in power always react to the power of numbers.
